Reviews for Il Vicoletto Trattoria
Review highlights
Based on 1,082 reviewsIl Vicoletto Trattoria in Verona consistently receives praise for its authentic Italian cuisine, emphasizing traditional dishes like tender ribs, creamy carbonara, and rich bolognese. Diners appreciate the generous portions and the use of high-quality local ingredients, which contribute to an overall satisfying dining experience. The atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming and genuine, with attentive and friendly staff enhancing the visit. While the restaurant maintains a classic Italian feel, it stands out for offering exceptional food at reasonable prices. Some guests note common European practices such as mandatory bottled water purchases, but this does not detract significantly from the positive reviews. Overall, Il Vicoletto is regarded as a reliable choice for both locals and tourists seeking authentic Italian flavors in a relaxed setting.
Fantastic experience in this beautiful spot. From the moment of attending, staff are welcoming and attentive. Everything you’d expect from a top end restaurant except the price. This is very reasonable for such high quality food. Only the desserts were photographed and are shown here. Great experience and I’d love to return.
We've been looking for the perfect place to try authentic Italian cuisine and been very picky, after reading all the reviews, decided to give it a try and..the place absolutely lived up to our expectations! The ribs were so tender you can separate them easily from bones, creamy carbonara, tasty tiramisu (and this one was not easy to find). On top of that, friendly service and great atmosphere. Made our stay in Verona special, we will be coming back!
After spending 4 nights in Italy, across several different cities my friends and I decided to close out our trip with something special. That happened to be this restaurant. I could not be happier we decided to end our trip here, the meal was incredible, perfectly cooked with local ingredients. The staff were extremely accomodating and the atmosphere was great. If you are visiting Verona and looking for somewhere to eat, then this should be at the top of any list you make. I can't wait till I'm back!
We came here with no reservation and were seated without issue or waiting. The food was absolutely delicious!! The carbonara was creamy and covered in fine cut slivers of crispy bacon, the bolognaise rich and unctuous. We decided to have the pork ribs with a side of mixed vegetables, they brought two plates and cut the ribs in half to make it easier to share and the portions were generous, even the vegetables were flavour packed. We even had a dessert as everything was so good! With a nice bottle of Valpolicella Ripasso, it all came to around £70. Heaven!
Pretty good restaurant, you can see it by the amounts of people in it. Everything felt pretty classical for an Italian restaurant, but I can promise you that the food here won't disappoint, as a fellow disappointed from Italian food in Italy person, this place, didn't disappoint. They do force you into buying a bottle of water, which I know is done often in Europe, but just in advance, you should know that it only adds 2.5 euros for your check. And the prices for the pastas itself were like 18 dollars, which is reasonable.
Excellent meal at this cozy establishment. The duck in polenta was spectacular as was the pork ribs and eggplant, cheese and tomato dish. We stated we wanted to share the dishes and without asking the dishes were all divided and served separately!! Good wines by the glass too. Reasonably prices for what you got!
Honestly the best restaurant I went to on my trip to Italy. We came upon this restaurant randomly and had it on a list of options to go to and so glad we chose it. We went at about 9pm on a Thursday night and it was full of locals. We ordered the ribs and bigiole. The ribs were amazing and came with a phenomenal homemade ginger mayonnaise, I would highly recommend. We tried out a variety of local wines which were all equally stunning and paired well with our food. The night ended with the best tiramisu we have had on our trip across Italy. I honestly can’t recommend the restaurant enough for a truly authentic Italian dinner.
Great little restaurant in the center of Verona. The food, wine and service were all excellent. They have an extensive wine lists with lots of reasonably priced local options which is nice. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a mix of locals and tourists.
